Well we got lucky, and they are going to hookup the phone again at no charge....

They didn't need to visit the house to shut it off, but they do to turn it back on. Go figure.... Anyhow it is good to know it is not going to cost us to get it back.

So the file server will not be sharing bandwidth with the phone afterall...

Still the 4 shared.com is a good rescource....

Well I guess the saying "if it is too good to be true, it probably is" applies to this one. The potential savings looked very appealing, but today we spent the morning without phone service, because the magicjack.com system it turns out is not dependable. Luckily we found this out within the 30 days, and we are returning them for full refund.

If a system is dependable and works for 20 days, and is out of service on the 21st, the 21st undoes all 20 days of good service for me... 1 day without phone makes this not a good deal... savings or not. So back it goes....

I dropped my home phone now and it knocked $40 off of my monthly phone bill... So far this magic jack phone has worked extremely well, and is everything they said it would be. Actually more...

It is looking like I can use this hardware for Googletalk, ICQ, Skype, or any other voice communication. The device shows up in the control panel, so I can configure any of these softwares to use the magicjack...

I am going to signup for their 5 year package (which will cost me about $100). Over the course of the 6 years (because the first year was free when I bought this), I stand to save about $3,000. Not a bad return for the $140 I initially invested to buy it...

Everyone in my household now has their own phone number via magicjack. Actually they all have 2 phone numbers now since they already had cell phones...

I bought 3 of these and we are trying them out right now. I have one installed for myself, and have two files downloading at the same time and it is working fine with it. The voice mail saves messages as wav files, and I get an e-mail (via my g-mail) if I get voice mail. It seems to be everything they said it was, and it's clear...

I stand to save quite a bit of money once I drop my regular phone. I pay as much in a month now as this costs in one year and the first year is free...

Like I said I am testing this out right now but so far it is working well, even on a taxed connection!

If I were in Europe I could plug into the net and call the US or Canada for free...

This really is amazing and you get to try it out for 30 days before they collect from your card...
