Dynamic Streaming Update

Ok after a little studying I finally figured out how to make these streaming playlists automatically update when new files are uploaded into a folder. They will be immediately streamable via the F-Jam servers, as well as downloadable. This is a major breakthrough! No longer will I need to manually update the playlists. Administration update news...

Just a little notice of admin updates, that might make life here at F-Jam a little easier....

1. - Put back instructions into the karaoke uploader, about how to get the link of uploaded files and include it in the messages posted about the uploads. Had them in there once. Must have overwritten this with older version. You can see what it says now here.

Planned file server downtime

Sunday evening EST, we are planning a hardware upgrade to the file server. It is a very quick upgrade and we do not forsee being down more than 5 to 10 minutes to do this. It will be most evident as missing shoutbox and random song spotlight, but also similar below the forum main page too and the file manager will be offline for a very short time.

Another mirror server planned

Mike P, and I have been discussing the server system here at F-Jam. He is planning a large upgrade of the hard drive there, and now has a 6 MBPS connection. He has graciously offered it as a mirror to the file server here.
